My Collection - One of my collections is rocks. I started collecting them in 2003 when I went to a fossil museum on a vacation. I got three rocks at the gift shop there. I continue to build on to my collection by looking in rock shops to see if they have rocks I dont have yet. I have alot of favorite rocks but one of my favorites is chalcoalumite. I got this rock in a gem shop while shopping in Utah two years ago .

Chapter 8 answer- I can understand that Naomi was confused because Clive had just given Owen a bicycle and since Skyla drinks he might actualy be a bad man. If I were Naomi i would be curious too. I would also be scared because what if Clive was a bad man and he was kidding about wanting to be my friend.
Chapter 9 answer- She was like poison to Owen because she delibretily pointed out Owen's problems and disrespected the fact that Owen wears tape on his shirt and does not wear a lift on his shoe. She was also like poison to him because she she did not like the fact that Owen beat her in the checker games. She even said he people would think he has no brain and could not beat anybody in anything.
Chapter 17 & 18 speech-
I am Naomi León, a twelve year old girl who has a family problem. My ‘‘Mom’’ abandoned me and my deformed brother, Owen, seven years ago. Since then I’ve had to live with my Gram in a trailer park close to San Diego. My dad left when my mom left and he now lives in Mexico, but we don’t know exactly where. A couple weeks ago my mom showed up at our door. Even though my mom has more money than my Gram, my Gram really cares about me. Now we have to have a debate in court about who should get to take care of me, my mom or my Gram. Here are my opinions on who I should stay with. First my life in Las Vegas would be terrible! My mom’s boyfriend, Clive, has a daughter named Sapphire who I would have to baby-sit in Las Vegas and that would take a lot of the fun out of my life while I babysit. If I go to Las Vegas I would probably have to go to casinos or where people take drugs and smoke. I only have one child friend in Lemon tree but she’s great. She’s ok with the fact that my mother and my father left and she respects what Owen and I know about our family history. . Over the seven years I’ve been in Avocado Acres, my Gram and her friends have taken very good care of me and Owen. When I have a question or problem, Gram always helps me with that. She also encourages what my next hobbies and interests should be, such as soap carving. I love Gram and I think she would be a much better mom then Skyla. Over the few weeks I was with Skyla I have grown to be scared of her. When Skyla took Owen and I to the hospital, she said she would go to the bathroom, but when she came back, she smelled like rum cake. She also has violent mood swings I that can’t control. Skyla’s boyfriend Clive is a tattoo artist who doesn’t seem like he cares about us except for the bike he bought Owen after Skyla did refused. I know that my life with in Las Vegas with Skyla would be miserable so I would much rather stay with Gram, her friends, and Blanca in Lemon Tree.
